A place to gather

Built for MCC meetings, service worker orientations and as a guest facility for visitors, the Welcoming Place is designed to represent an international village, reflecting the homes, schools and churches of MCC’s partner organizations around the world. All buildings are decorated with international art and handicrafts from Ten Thousand Villages.

All our facilities are accessible and have free wi-fi.

For more information on facilities and rate information, contact the MCC Hosting Department at 717-859-1151 or 1-888-563-4676, or email WelcomingPlace@mcc.org.

The Welcoming Place has four guest houses. Each guest house includes:

  • 11 bedrooms
  • Private baths
  • Central gathering place
  • Kitchen
  • Patio
  • Outdoor and indoor fireplaces
  • Whole house fans
  • In-floor heating
  • Free wireless internet
  • Bed linens and towels

The Meeting Place is our meeting and conference center. It has two large assembly rooms and several smaller meeting rooms.  Both assembly rooms have built-in sound, projection and video conferencing capabilities including wireless mics, instrument inputs and wireless screencasting.

Like the guest houses, this facility has free wireless internet access and is accessible to people with disabilities.

The Welcoming Place is designed not only to be a beautiful, restful area for people but also as a support for local ecosystems. The landscape emphasizes native plant communities that provide food and habitat for birds, pollinators like butterflies, moths and bees, and wildlife. A walk across the campus provides an immersive nature-based experience, extending into a woodland that offers a network of trails perfect for short hikes and relaxation beneath a shaded tree canopy.
