View MapMCC in HondurasLatin America & Caribbean MCC supports the social work of several Anabaptist organizations in Honduras in education, HIV/AIDS prevention, agricultural development and the rehabilitation of gang members. With Global Family sponsorships from MCC, a Honduran Mennonite women's organization, Women Friends Miles Apart (MAMA), gives scholarships to students from low-income families to help them attend elementary school, secondary school or university. MCC also sponsors public education by MAMA to prevent domestic violence. MCC supports HIV/AIDS prevention education for gang members in Atlántida through Peace and Justice Project, a Honduran Mennonite organization. With Peace and Justice Project, MCC also helps rehabilitate former gang members. MCC supports agricultural development work through Mennonite Christian Service, a Honduran Mennonite organization, and Committee of Social Development, a Honduran Brethren in Christ organization.
