Our Mission

  • To articulate and pursue a Christian pacifist vision for the furthering of peace and justice in international affairs.
  • To convey and interpret relevant MCC activities and priorities as shaped by its grassroots knowledge and partnerships to UN agencies, diplomats, and non-governmental organizations.
  • To develop focused areas of monitoring and advocacy that reflect MCC commitments and tie into its programming.
  • To analyze and convey relevant UN activities and priorities to MCC and its constituency.
  • To foster peace and justice commitments and links to MCC among New York City Mennonites.

As a voice at the United Nations for MCC, its global partnerships, and the Mennonite church we:

  • Coordinate common agenda with MCC Ottawa and Washington D.C. offices and Mennonite World Conference.
  • Form coalitions with other NGOs.
  • Brief Mennonite and ecumenical delegations en route to crisis areas.
  • Write letters or statements advocating a course of action.
  • Host an annual study seminar each October for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Answer questions from constituents concerning matters before UN bodies.
  • Make conflict transformation resources more accessible to international agencies.
  • Provide one-year internships in connection with Mennonite Voluntary Service and Manhattan Mennonite Fellowship.
