A song of celebration

 

Although the coast shielded backwater villages of India’s Cuddalore province from a direct hit by the tsunami, villagers lost the fishing boats they relied on to make a living. MCC worked with an Indian organization SUCHI that brought community building and trauma healing programs, including economic development and arts projects and training in nonviolent conflict resolution. In a music video made for the documentary The Tsunami’s Wake, villagers come together to celebrate their successes.
