Meet your Hosts at SWAP Harlan

Your hosts at the SWAP Harlan location are Bud and Shari Yordy. They welcome you to the Forestry Camp on the top of Pine Mountain where the cool breezes blow and the sunsets are spectacular. The camp is reached via Little Shepherd Trail – a winding, narrow road on the ridges of Pine Mountain.

The Yordys previously served with MCC in Cambodia for 4 years, and with Ten Thousand Villages for 6 months. They owned and operated True Value Hardware stores in central Illinois 36 years before entering their “second-childhood”.

They have two adult married children, and a granddaughter. For twenty years they provided foster care to almost 150 children.
