Country Music Highway Directions to Harlan
SWAP Groups heading to Harlanhave several routes to choose from:
Interstate 81 to Highway 421SWAP volunteers who are coming south along Interstate 81 should follow these MapQuest directions to the Harlan Dairy Queen, beginning at Gate City, VA. From Dairy Queen, proceed north on US 119 through the traffic light. About a quarter mile after the light, turn left on Highway 421 and drive 4 miles up Pine Mountain 4 miles to Little Shepherd Trail (look for Mac's Mission, located on your right side at the junction of 421 and Little Shepherd Trail) . Turn right on Little Shepherd Trail and drive three miles to the SWAP Forestry Camp, following the SWAP signs on the Trail. 
Interstate 75 to Highway 25ESWAP volunteers travelling through Lexington, KY to the Harlan Dairy Queen should follow these Mapquest directions, beginning on Interstate 75 as it passes Lexington. From Dairy Queen, proceed north on US 119 through the traffic light. About a quarter mile after the light, turn left on Highway 421 and drive 4 miles up Pine Mountain (You will see an American Flag painted on a large rock at the 3-mile mark) to Little Shepherd Trail. Turn right on Little Shepherd Trail and drive three miles to the SWAP Forestry Camp, following the SWAP signs on the Trail.
