SWAP Summer Staff Opportunities

A critical component

of SWAP's successful ministry is our summer staff. SWAP staff vary in age from 19 to 70+ and come from places as diverse as rural Germany, the Canadian prairies and the cities of Dallas, Memphis and Vancouver. Terms are typically 10 to 12 weeks, and are also well suited to students.

SWAP provides meals, housing and a weekly stipend, as well as reimbursing transportation expenses to and from assignment.

All SWAP staff must be:

  • committed to Christ
  • active participants in a Christian church community
  • committed to peace

Summer staff will be in positions to challenge youth and adult participants in their perceptions of faith, ministry, service and poverty. All volunteers are asked to participate in evening workshop sessions according to their gifts and talents.

Compensation

All summer staff receive food and lodging while on assignment. They also receive a weekly stipend, according to the following schedule:
  • $125/week (first year)
  • $150/week (second year)
  • $175/week (subsequent years)

Additionally, SWAP will pay transportation costs to and from assignment for staff who serve for the the entire summer SWAP season.
