Zemedkun Baykeda, MCC food security advisor from Ethiopia, has witnessed starvation and drought in Boricha, Ethiopia, in 2006, and now his extended family is living in the midst of the food emergency in eastern Ethiopia. Interspersed with Baykeda’s insight into the suffering that accompanies a drought, Bruce Campbell-Janz, director of MCC’s Africa Department, explains how MCC is responding to the current situation.
