Young adults serve with MCC

December 2, 2010

AKRON, Pa. — MCC commissioned 60 new workers for one-year assignments through its SALT – Serving and Learning Together – program for young adults from Canada and the U.S. who volunteer outside both countries. They completed a week-long orientation at the Welcoming Place, Akron, in August.
MCC, a worldwide ministry of Anabaptist churches, shares God’s love and compassion for all in the name of Christ by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice. MCC staff usually work in partnership with local churches and community organizations. Each year about 200 people begin MCC assignments. Currently, there are 1,126 MCC workers in 49 countries. For more information on MCC, visit mcc.org.
