Austin Mennonite Church is a member congregation of Western District Conference, Mennonite Church USA. We are a closely related and geographically dispersed community of about 50 persons, mostly Anglo and relatively middle-aged. We own a building constructed in the mid-1950’s which includes a sanctuary, kitchen, offices, storage closets, and education classrooms. Additionally we have two annexes and an enclosed play area furnished with a variety of equipment. We rent facility space to two permanent groups: Trinity Child Development Center and a Spanish congregation, Principe de Paz, of the Disciples of Christ faith tradition.
The development center continually struggles to acquire funding to provide safe and appropriate child care for many impoverished, single-parents nearby. Our faith community embraces this ministry as an outreach of our witness to the local neighborhood and provides them support and encouragement as our limited resources allow.
We welcome volunteers who are willing to spend themselves with us to enhance our capacity to demonstrate the gospel to persons with whom we share life in northeast Austin, either through general maintenance to indoor facilities and outdoor play areas or helping in the day care.

World Hunger Relief, Inc. is a Christian organization committed to the alleviation of hunger around the world. God calls us to: Train individuals in holistic ministry that equips them to work with communities in developing sustainable farming techniques, educate those with an economic abundance on methods of conserving and sharing resources, and participate in local and international sustainable development programs. World Hunger Relief is a 42 acre working farm that provides practical and classroom training to interns who wish to work in the developing world and education to local area residents who wish to learn about how to be better stewards of God's creation. As a working farm, there is always more work to be done than there are hands to do the work. From skilled work such as carpentry, masonry, electrical work, machine maintenance/repair, clerical, kitchen/food prep - to unskilled labor in the gardens and grounds, there are plenty of tasks for people of all ages and aptitudes. Volunteers are encouraged to connect with Hope Fellowship, a local Mennonite congregation, involved in the ministry of World Hunger Relief.

Lush green mountains in the summer, deep snow in the winter and lots of colour in between! Come stay in Vermont at Bethany Birches Camp and be a part of this thriving ministry. 30 - 50% of the campers in the summer months have no church affiliation and are hungry for the Good News that Jesus of Nazareth brought many years ago. Come stay a week or a summer. RV hookup is available, or if you prefer, stay in our staff cabin with other staff. Summer responsibilities are various and range from worship leading, cooking, maintaining grounds or playing 4-square! If you like winter fun come and be a part of our snow camps or even lead the snow camp program. Also, in the winter there is need for a host. this person would greet rental groups, clean the cabin and report to the Executive Director frequently. Spring and fall duties would depend on the skills the volunteer(s) bring. [The summer camping program extends from late June through most of August].
