Ana teaching piano. The most important experienceUganda I often worry about not teaching anyone piano efficiently and really making use of my entire year here. No matter how many people I talk to about it, and though they assure me I'm doing a lot, it never seems to help. However, I had a helpful talk with Thad the other day, in which he said we North Americans have this egotistical idea that we have to accomplish something wherever we go. It's foolish to cling on to that idea, as things sometimes don't always work out, but one shouldn't regret the experiences because of a lack of accomplishments. I can see myself falling into that trap, but now I have new eyes to observe that idea with. I now know I don't HAVE to accomplish anything. It's the learning and growing experience that is MOST important. If I teach a few people piano, even if only one person, then that's marvelous, and I should be pleased with that. I should always have the mentality "at least I tried my best," which is mentality that could be practiced all the time, in any situation or culture.
