The
author
Jeanne Zimmerly Jantzi follows the rhythms of life with children: shopping,
school, play, traditions, celebrations, relationships, self esteem, and
faith. Each chapter includes a meditation, brief essay, and reflection
questions, along with a set of practical ideas to try. (About

Reviews
"Each chapter is short enough for busy parents to read easily,
yet crammed with insight." --Andrea Brown, mother and pastor.
Stepping off the beaten path
I would recommend this book as a resource for an informal parent's
class or small group. Those groups that have studied the Life Steps Family
Plan would find this an excellent follow-up discussion on "Christian
Community" and "Servant Heart". It will continue to stimulate
their own modeling of a life of discipleship in the most practical arenas
of life. (More of this review)

Enter the conversation
It's a book of "regular" people, no one claiming to be an expert,
sharing ideas on a range of topics that cover key issues - money, TV watching
or not, relationships, leisure time, sharing our faith and more - of parenting
in today's North American context. I enjoyed the sense that the reflections
were "real," that things hadn't been glossed over. I saw myself
and my kids within the pages. (More of this review)
