      IN APPRECIATION

We owe a special word of thanks to Donald Kraybill and the Young Center Program of Elizabethtown College under whose auspices I prepared and gave these lectures for the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) staff. The Center's invitation to be a Young Center Fellow (Spring 1994) prompted me to initiate the project and supported me through it.
