About the author
Art Meyer was a long-time advocate of Christian-motivated care of the earth. After retiring from a 30-year high school science teaching career, he and his wife, Jocele, served with MCC in Grenada in 1981. In 1982 they began work with MCC U.S. Global Education, doing research, writing and speaking on food, hunger, relief, development and environmental issues. They also edited Food and Hunger Notes, a bi-monthly MCC newsletter. This Occasional Paper supplements "Earthkeepers: Environmental Perspectives on Hunger, Poverty and Justice" (Herald Press, 1991), published just before Art's death in March 1991.
