Congregations around the world prayed for the people of Haiti on Sunday, January 17. At Eighth Street Mennonite Church in Goshen, Ind., Phil Rush, director of MCC's Resource Generation Network, shared his reflections and marveled at the aptness of the Isaiah 62:4 lectionary text:
- "No more will anyone call you Rejected, and your country will no more be called Ruined. You'll be called My Delight, and your land Married, Because God delights in you and your land will be like a wedding celebration. " (The Message)
The peace prayer that follows is by Allison Brenneman.
