This year, MCC’s SALT program will reach a milestone – the registration of its 1,000th participant. Since 1981, the Serving and Learning Together program has sent young adults to a variety of assignments around the world. Twenty-seven-year-old Amy Holland from Winnipeg, Manitoba, is a SALTer in India. In the courtyard of the MCC office in Kolkata, she spoke about her first few months in one of the world’s most populous countries, where about a third of the people exist on a dollar a day or less (United Nations statistic).
