For Canadians, an election resource from MCC Canada
On October 14, 2008 Canadians will go to the polls to elect a new federal government. Democratic elections are a privilege. For Anabaptist Christians, they are also opportunities to determine how our faith and the common good intersect. They invite us to consider the political implications of Jesus’ teachings about loving our enemies, feeding the hungry and caring for “the least of these.”
MCC has prepared an election resource to help Canadian Anabaptist Christians reflect on current issues in light of the election. It is available as a downloadable PDF. Share it with friends and work colleagues. Use it in discussion at home, in small groups and at Sunday school. Take it to an all-candidates meeting to develop your own questions.
