MCC executive director resigns

October 26, 2006

MCC executive director, Robb Davis, has resigned his post as director of the international relief, development and peace agency after nearly a year and a half on the job.

"We are indeed sorry to see Robb leave," Ron Dueck, MCC Executive Committee chair, said today. "The MCC Executive Committee is meeting today to assess the situation and plan the next steps in hiring another executive director."

Davis, who joined MCC on June 1, 2005, submitted his resignation on Oct. 23. His resignation was considered and accepted by the MCC executive committee on Oct. 24. At Davis' request his resignation was effective immediately. He had previously served as a senior vice-president for Freedom from Hunger in Davis, California.

Dueck said the MCC executive committee will appoint a short term MCC staff person to handle administrative responsibilities covered by the executive director while the committee conducts a search for an interim director.

Once the interim executive director is hired the executive committee will begin the search for a long-term replacement for Davis.
