Pray for the safe release of four CPT members held in IraqDec. 6, 2005 MCC is asking all of its friends and supporters to pray for the safe release of four members of Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT) who were abducted Nov. 26 in Baghdad, Iraq. We know CPT to be a prophetic voice for peace and justice in many violent conflicts around the world. Since before the current war in Iraq began, CPT workers have boldly and peacefully advocated for the human rights of Iraqis, protesting the U.S.-led invasion, documenting the abuse of Iraqi prisoners and supporting Iraqi human rights organizations. At CPT's roots are the peace traditions of Mennonites, Brethren and other faith groups, and the courage and conviction of its members are inspiring for all who work and pray for peace. Our hearts go out now to Harmeet Sooden, James Loney, Norman Kember and Tom Fox, as they are being held somewhere in Iraq. We pray urgently for their safety, for their release and for their families and friends. We also pray and advocate, as these men would have us do, for peace in Iraq. Robb Davis, MCC Executive Director
