"ADVOCACY: Training Manual:
Advocating for Survivors of Sexual Abuse by a Church Leader or Caregiver" (MCC Manitoba)

This training manual is geared towards church leaders taking on the challenge of abuse issues within their own congregation. In the introduction, it says: "As our society becomes more aware of the hidden abuse in families and churches, we can easily become overwhelmed by the amount of pain surrounding us. Those of use who provide support to the hurting may wonder when the pain will every go away. Those of us who advocate for changes in a society or system which allows for abuse may get discouraged, feeling that the changes are too slow and too few. However…our actions do make a difference to hurting individuals."

Some topics covered in this manual are:

b) Initial response to the survivor of abuse,
