MCC Manitoba has many opportunities for volunteers to get involved in short term and long term activities. Volunteer for a day, a week or a month in any of the following events or programs.

Volunteer

  • Cyclathons - get involved as a cyclist or a volunteer in a one day or two day event. The two day event, Bike the Interlake will be held on June 9 and 10, 2007. A new route has been chosen.
    The one day event, Cycle Clear Lake will be held on June 30, 2007

  • Golf tournament - as a golfer or a volunteer you will enjoy the Links at Quarry Oaks golf course. Golf tournament date is set for July 18, 2007.

  • In the MCCM office - volunteers are needed on a causal basis to help with church mailings, receipt processing and mailing.

  • Material resources - Volunteers are needed on a regular basis in both warehouses, in Winnipeg and Plum Coulee to process material resources such as school kits, health kits, relief kits, blankets and more.

  • MCC Manitoba programs currently has the following volunteer position available.

    Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder(FASD),
    Support Circle Volunteers
    - The FASD Program invites adult volunteers to join support circles seeking to help individuals living with FASD. Volunteers have opportunity to attend training sessions, get to know others and share in the excitement of communities trying differently.

  • Meat Canning - Do you enjoy a variety of tasks, meeting new people and helping in a very tangible way? Then you might consider helping out for a six hour shift on the mobile meat canner as it rolls into Winkler, Manitoba every November. Approximately 300 volunteers are needed over a period of three days to cut, grind, stir and pack meat, wash, label and stack cans.

  • Relief sales - Three relief sales are organized every year by separate groups of volunteers for each sale. Opportunities to assist in one of many ways exists at alll three sales. Sales are held in Winnipeg, Morris and Brandon.

  • Thrift Shops - 17 thrift shops in 13 communities in Manitoba are always looking for volunteers to do a variety of jobs. Jobs ranging from sorting clothes, repairing donated articles, pricing and clerking, pick up and delivery of furniture and appliances.
