People from around the world gave money, material resources, time and sweat equity to walk with the people of Haiti as they recover from the earthquake that devastated the capital of Port-au-Prince a year ago on Jan. 12.
Through the voices of Haitians, “Disaster to Decentralization: Haiti’s long-term recovery” explores struggles in Haiti that led to the massive devastation following the January 12, 2010, earthquake and speaks of hopes for the future.
As MCC plans the next steps in its multiyear response to the Haiti earthquake, MCC medical teams and structural engineers are providing immediate assistance, relief kits and other supplies are being distributed and more aid is being shipped.
Working on the comforters in the MCC warehouse in Winnipeg is helping Petiote and her classmates Jane Paul and Angelique Dauriac support each other as they deal with the grief of what is happening in Haiti.
