Harlan, Ky Flooding

On March 18, 2002, the worst flooding since 1977 hit counties in Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia. Damage to infrastructure and personal property resulted in thousands of displaced people and losses into the millions of dollars. (14 pictures)

Three days after the flooding, many areas have been cleared of debris, and damage assessments are continuing. Many organizations are working together to provide shelter and meals. Over 2100 meals were provided on a given day in Harlan.(11 pictures)
