Noah's Ark kindergarten in Serbia

'Tamara', 6, lives in Belgrade. When Tamara was two years old her parents saw that something was not right; that their child was different. Tests revealed that Tamara's development was slow; the diagnosis was mild autism.

When she was three years old, Tamara went to a kindergarten where all of the children were autistic, many with much more severe diagnoses. In that environment she did not display signs of improvement; her parents were in despair about this.

Tamara has been at Noah's Ark kindergarten for six months, where she has an assistant who smooths the way for her to integrate with the group. Recently Tamara has displayed signs of improvement; therefore with continuing contact with the group of children, she is able to achieve success to some extent with following instructions and showing interest in things that are happening around her.

Staff at Noah's Ark Kindergarten express their gratitude to Global Family sponsors in supporting the ongoing operation of the kindergarten so children like Tamara can continue to learn.
