Safina
Safina is a l'Arche community for adults with
mental handicaps in Old City Damascus. The
community affirms that regardless of handicap
and ability, all people have something to
contribute to the world and all have the right to
a decent life. The al-Mina workshop at Safina
offers a developmental program for people with
handicaps to learn basic skills and coordination,
as well as hygiene and social skills. Global
Family helps Safina operate this workshop,
which benefits ten people.
