 The children perform at the end of their workshops. KosovoClose to ChildrenClose to Children is a group of artists (poets, writers, musicians, TV producer, artists) who, during the Kosova crisis, had a vision for living in a spirit of rebuilding and hope. They began to work in a few schools around Prishtina, in villages where there had been devastating massacres. They work with children after school in drawing, reading, writing, and drama workshops, providing a safe place as well as means for children to express their fears, struggles, questions, and dreams. This creative selfexpression helps children process the trauma they’ve experienced over the past 12 years. Global Family provides art and other supplies for the workshops as well as assists artists with transportation costs to the schools. Special events such as art exhibitions and drama productions are also partially funded by Global Family. *2008-09 fully sponsored.
