Preschool Education
In the districts of Binh Xuyen, Thanh Thuy and
Tam Nong, kindergarten is compulsory but the
government does not fund preschools, which
provide a valuable foundation for future
learning. Many families cannot afford the
tuition and meal fees. Children who don’t
attend preschool experience a higher failure rate
in elementary school. Global Family supplies nutritious meals at the preschools in each of
these districts. MCC Vietnam will continue to
help build kitchens and enable the purchase of
needed equipment so the preschools can better
meet children’s learning needs. *2008-09 fully
