Hope Prison Foundation (HPF)
Women or men who return from prison, because
they’ve served their sentence or have been
exonerated, are often reject by family, friends, and the community. The struggle to return to
productive, normal daily living after
experiencing the trauma of prison and now
ongoing social rejection takes a toll on the exprisoners’
families, especially their children.
Hope Prisoners' Foundation (HPF) walks with
former prisoners and their families, helping
them pay school fees so that the children can
attend school. The tuition assistance provides an
economic boost and encouragement, moving the
families toward economic independence. Global
Family funds help to pay the cost off school
fees, uniforms, lunches, medical needs and other
miscellaneous items which enable the children
to stay in school.
The consequences of imprisonment on the ex-prisoner are deep and long lasting, often culminating in rejection by family, friends and the community. Homes break up, spousal abuse takes place, the community at large suffers and finally, the children take the brunt of the suffering because of their vulnerability.
Hope Prison Foundation is struggling to respond to these difficult situations by walking with the ex-prisoners and their families.
Usually school fees cannot be paid, so the children are unable to attend school. HPF's objectives are to assist these families through the children so that they can be given an economic boost and encouragement, pushing them to a greater level of economic sustainability.
Global Family funds help to pay the costs of school fees, uniforms, lunches, medical needs and other miscellaneous items which may arise to help sustain the children of the prisoners and ex-prisoners in attending school.
