Swaziland
Those ministering to HIV/AIDS affected
families through the Faith Bible School (FBS)
home based care program noticed that children
who lost their guardians to AIDS often could no
longer attend school. While the Swaziland
government has moved to provide free primary
school education to all children, orphans and
vulnerable children are sometimes denied
access at local schools. FBS advocates on
behalf of these children, for the access to which
they’re entitled, and also provides regular life
skills workshops to help them integrate into
society. Global Family pays school fees and
provides uniforms and supplies for 20 children
orphaned by AIDS whom FBS identifies for
educational assistance.
