Unsung Heroes
Unsung Heroes, a Christian Community
Development Organization, partners with community
leaders to build their capacity, strengthen
their leadership skills, and help them access
donor funding. Many of their partnerships
involve Early Childhood Development (ECD)
projects with orphaned and vulnerable children. At the Bophelong-Empilweni project,
for example, 27 children attend the ECD centre
and community care givers look after more than
200 children orphaned by AIDS. Global Family
funds support partners such as Bophelong-
Empilweni in their work with vulnerable
children and their families. Global Family also
supports Unsung Heroes’ mentoring program
for community-based organizations, helping
them become more effective in their community
