Mwana Nshuti (Child Friend) Center
Mwana Nshuti (Child Friend) Center, a
project of the Evangelical Friends' Church of
Rwanda and its peace agency, Urugo
rw'Amahoro, is located in Kigali, Rwanda's
capital. At the Center, 94 former street
children learn to read, write, and become
socially reintegrated before going to regular
primary schools for education. Older children
learn vocational skills in agriculture, tailoring,
cooking, and handicraft production in addition
to basic literacy skills. Global Family funds
assure ongoing funding for the vocational
training projects at Mwana Nshuti. *2008-09
