Children often enter first grade at 9 or 10 years of age, if they can get to school at all. The Anglican Church Education project helps these communities organize preschools and understand the value of early childhood education in building a foundation for learning. 1,100 children benefit from the preschools, as do 100 of their parents who take advantage of adult literacy classes. Global Family provides for teacher training, purchases school supplies and food for healthy student lunches, and funds the church worker who resources the preschools. |
