Every generous act of giving, with every
perfect gift, is
from above,
coming down
from the
Father of lights.

Project poster (PDF) Generations at RiskHIV/AIDS Projects Support for orphans and vulnerable childrenSome 15 million children have been orphaned by AIDS. MCC is helping to provide basic needs to orphans and vulnerable children in 11 countries. Six-year-old Memadji Lembaye Isabelle’s father died of AIDS in 2002. In West Africa, a child who loses one parent, particularly a father, is considered an orphan. Memadji lives in the village of Miladi in the southern part of Chad and is one of 100 AIDS orphans MCC assists through a Protestant church organization called Evangelical Churches and Missions in Chad. The project covers her school fees and supplies, school uniform, some extra clothes and medicine. Each year, Memadji and her family receive an extra sack of grain as well. “The way you see me today, this is not the way I was,” Memadji says. Since receiving support from MCC, “now I can eat, I can sleep well, I get medicine, and best of all, I go to school,” she says. “The way I am now is better.” Your contribution helps MCC reach out to orphans and vulnerable children in Chad and other countries. $9 provides food for an orphan for a month $19 provides clothing for an orphan for one year If contributions to a project exceed the amount needed, MCC will use the donations to support similar projects. |
