Every generous act of giving, with every
perfect gift, is
from above,
coming down
from the
Father of lights.

Project poster (PDF) CanadaA chance to move forwardPeople deserve the opportunity to make their own lives better. While some need to be encouraged to make positive choices, others need help starting over. In Reginas inner city, many youth struggle to cope with drugs, gang membership, violence and abuse. A church-run bicycle repair shop, funded in part by MCC, provides these youth with opportunities to build skills that are positive, useful and a source of pride. It provides affordable bicycles to the community and opportunities for the youth to build healthy and stable relationships with people who care about them and their future. Meanwhile, in Manitoba, MCC helps released prisoners get a start on a new life by providing local care kits, which include basic kitchen and bathroom items. Many items in the kits come from MCC thrift stores but some are bought elsewhere. An MCC blanket is also part of the package. Your support gives people a chance to move forward. $18 helps purchase items for a local care kit in Manitoba $35 provides bicycle mechanics training for one youth for a month in Regina $133 provides support for one inner city youth in Regina to attend a week of summer camp If contributions to a project exceed the amount needed, MCC will use the donations to support similar projects. |
