perfect gift, is
from above,
coming down
from the

Project poster (PDF) JobUkraine Loans to realize dreamsOne of the many challenges of the post-Soviet era in Ukraine and Russia is the difficulty that families have obtaining credit. Without an influx of cash, many find themselves unable to expand their businesses or start new enterprises. Members of the Gumanuk family, farmers near Kharkov, Ukraine, had struggled to support themselves from the meager income they generated by raising pigs in their yard. The family wanted to expand their farming operation but did not have money to purchase the equipment they needed to realize their dream. With a loan through an MCC-sponsored revolving loan fund, the Gumanuk family was able to obtain a tractor, a plow and other equipment to begin farming an 11-hectare parcel of land. Now the family has been able to harvest a crop of barley and make the first payment on their loan. MCC sponsors 13 revolving loan funds that are administered by regional church associations in Ukraine. Your contribution will help families like the Gumanuks receive loans to start or expand small businesses. $100 helps provide a loan for a small private business in Ukraine or Russia $1,000 is an average loan to a small private business in Ukraine or Russia If contributions to a project exceed the amount needed, MCC will use the donations to support similar projects. |
