Every generous act of giving, with every
perfect gift, is
from above,
coming down
from the
Father of lights.

Project poster (PDF) Generations at RiskHIV/AIDS Projects Home-based and hospital careHelp MCC encourage caregivers and support groups for those living with HIV and AIDS in 21 countries. MCC also supports eight hospitals and clinics in their work to provide medical care for people living with the disease and to offer HIV testing. In the Papua region of Indonesia, Danny was a commercial sex worker until he became ill. In 2004, he found out he was infected with HIV. “I was afraid. I didn’t know what to do,” says Danny. “AIDS brings death.” But when Danny met the members and the volunteers of the Jayapura Support Group, he began to realize he was not alone. Danny is now active in speaking out about AIDS and encouraging others who live with HIV. When asked if Danny had anything to share with MCC friends far away, he expressed his thanks, but then he had another message. “If there is anyone there who is like us, who is infected … tell them, ‘Do not be afraid. You are not alone. You have friends here.’ Please, tell them this.” Your contribution helps fund home-based care projects in 21 countries and support for hospital care and HIV testing. $3 provides a home nursing care visit for one patient $15 provides a month of supplemental food and multivitamins for one patient If contributions to a project exceed the amount needed, MCC will use the donations to support similar projects. |
