Sampat Rad was the sole shoemaker on Car Nicobar before the tsunami. Today, he lives in a shelter on South Andaman Island. Through a program of an MCC partner organization, West Bengal Voluntary Health Association, he was able to receive funds to buy tools to work again as a cobbler.
