Bina Sarkar was 6 when the tsunami dragged her into the ocean near her home on the coast of South Andaman Island. Her mother rescued her, but Bina had to spend time in the hospital to recover from her injuries. Her family lost its home, and still lives in a shelter, but Bina, now 9, has recovered from her injuries. She says she hopes to become doctor and that she doesn't let herself think about the tsunami because she must put her mind to studying.
