In Qalqiliya, West Bank, Makedi Silmi picks cucumbers on a farm that is part of an MCC-sponsored irrigation project. Limited water resources in the occupied West Bank are made even scarcer by Israeli confiscation of water from West Bank aquifers. MCC projects help Palestinian farmers renovate old and broken irrigation networks, some of which were damaged during the construction of the Israeli separation barrier in the West Bank.
