As a woman and a dalit (“untouchable”), Chandra’s life has been a litany of hardship. She has gained insight into the forces working against her and courage to confront them as a member of a women’s group. Chandra’s story will appear in the January-February 2006 issue of a Common Place , MCC’s free, bimonthly magazine.
