Marini, 23, was far away in the capital city, Jakarta, when the tsunami hit her hometown of Banda Aceh. Thirty of her relatives, including a grandmother, her mother and brother, were killed.
Since the calamity, Marini has co-hosted a call-in radio show sponsored by MCC partner Forum for Humanity and Peoplehood. The forum created the program to promote trauma healing. The activity has helped Marini in her own healing as well.
(Marina’s story is featured in the November/December issue of a Common Place.)
