Many mothers who lost children have not been able to come to terms with their losses in the 11 months following the tsunami. Among them is Aisyah, pictured here in a newly built house in the town of Tanoh Anoe, near Lhokseumawe city. Aisyah continues to grieve the death of her 15-year-old daughter, who left a place of safety to return to the village to warn a cousin of the wave.
