Malathi (no surname), a young girl in the village of Gundumedu takes on a very normal task in village life, drying grain in the bright sunlight. For young and old, returning to the normal routines of life has been challenging since the tsunami. In mid-March women in the village said they had recently gone three days without fresh water. Their well was filled with debris from the flood. MCC and its partner agency, SUCHI are working with seven villages in the region to rebuild.
