More than 80 percent of residents of Bangladesh still depend on agriculture to make a living. Farmers often support themselves and their families on plots of 2 acres or less. MCC has worked with more than 100,000 farmers in Bangladesh, including Sirajul Hoq. Today, though, the agriculture program is shifting its emphasis to train Bangladeshi organizations to lend agricultural support to farmers.
