Service opportunities
You can support Mennonite Central Committee’s ministry in
many ways. More than 800 people serve in one- to three-year service
assignments in some 50 countries, including volunteers and staff
in the United States and Canada. Thousands more volunteer for shorter
periods of time at Ten Thousand Villages, MCC thrift shops, youth
group service weeks and relief sales. Many, many more offer prayers,
material and financial resources.
Additionally, some 500 locally hired staff work on MCC projects
around the world. All together, this makes for a wonderfully creative,
diverse, energetic, committed and very human community.
For more information about getting involved with MCC see: http://www.mcc.org/getinv.html
MCC service workers:
MCC needs some 300 new volunteers each year with various skills,
backgrounds and education levels for placements around the world.
MCC assignments include agricultural development, health, education,
economic and technical projects, social services and peacemaking.
Persons working in these positions are Christians, active church
members, and hold to the biblical teaching of nonviolence. If you
are a follower of Jesus and share these values, MCC may have a place
for you.
Residents of the East Coast can contact MCC East Coast directly
for more information about volunteer positions around the world
and salaried openings in bi-national headquarters in Akron, PA.
