Service Programs
The Service Program of Mennonite Central Committee East Coast office
places workers in two-three year service terms in the areas of education,
housing, justice research and advocacy, health, social service,
refugee assistance, immigration, and administrative support work.
These service areas (or service units) are located in both urban
and rural areas such as Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Miami and
Belle Glade, Fla.
The Church
Community Worker (CCW) and Summer
Service Worker (SSW) program of MCC East Coast are for persons
from African-American, Native American, Asian American and Latino
backgrounds who relate to Mennonite and Brethren in Christ churches.
These programs enable persons to serve in their home communities.
Projects are developed by participants in consultation with their
local church or organization. The CCW program is for two years and
the SSW program is for 10 weeks during the summer. MCC and local
congregations support participants. |
