Summer Service ProgramThe Summer Service Program enables people of diverse ethnic backgrounds, such as African-American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic and Native American, to work with a church or service agency in their home communities for 10 weeks. Participants work in a variety of areas including staffing summer camps, tutoring school age children, summer GED programs, helping with church construction or doing community social work. Funding for the program comes from MCC U.S. and local congregations. In 2008, 26 young adults are participating in this program.
