Mission Statement

MCC East Coast is an agency of the Mennonite Central Committee and, as such, is sponsored by Mennonite, Brethren in Christ, United Zion and Amish Churches. MCC East Coast endeavors to foster hope and reconciliation in a broken world. In the name of Christ, MCC East Coast spreads the good news of God's love through:

  • Administering service programs which work with persons suffering from disaster, poverty, violence and oppression
  • Generating material, financial and human resources for the work of MCC, MCC US and MCC East Coast
  • Facilitating connections and understandings among our constituents, supporting congregations and other people who share God's creation
  • Promoting peace and justice through education, advocacy and relationship building

In its work, MCC East Coast strives to:

  • Follow God's spirit as an integral part of the church's total witness
  • Affirm and respect the church's diversity
  • Walk with others sharing and learning together in a spirit of mutuality which affirms the dignity of all persons
  • Strengthen constituent relations by focusing particularly on congregational and district conference contacts and relationships
  • Encourage cooperation among local and regional MCC constituent groups

Vision Statement

The primary goal of MCC East Coast ministry is to facilitate constituent churches and their partners to be more faithful in our common mission in our communities and throughout the world. This facilitation role is both helping to lead the church and to respond to the church's interest and priorities, keeping in mind the mission and core values of MCC, MCC U.S. and MCC East Coast.
