 Meet basic needsFood – Enough for today and tomorrowGive the gift of food. Around the globe, MCC provides food to those who need it and helps farmers to grow more, even on small plots of land. After a cyclone devastated coastal areas of Myanmar, also known as Burma, MCC supported efforts to provide rice, beans and instant noodles to people who had lost their homes. In Colombia, MCC provided funds to Mennonite Brethren congregations to serve a daily community meal for 250 families forced from their homes by the nation's ongoing armed conflict. MCC is committed to finding solutions for the escalating global food crisis, including programs to help increase food production.
$35 provides rice, beans, oil, salt and instant noodles for a family of six for one month. $124 provides sustainable agricultural training, equipment and seeds for 10 families. If contributions to a project exceed the amount needed, MCC will use the donations to support similar projects. |
