Recent flooding in Burkina Faso, West Africa, has forced 150,000 people from their homes, predominantly in the capital, Ouagodougou, where MCC workers are based.
MCC strives to meet urgent needs in areas torn by disaster or war and to reach out to people forced to flee from their homes. MCC provides food, aid such as relief kits or blankets and other needed items in the days or weeks following a disaster. MCC provides funds to Mennonite Christian Service Fellowship of India (MCSFI) to distribute food and other aid to about 18,000 people affected by flooding in the Indian state of Bihar.
MCC works with partner organization to provide water, food, medicines and temporary housing for people affected by damage and flooding from recent hurricanes.
